ANNUAL REPORT
I would
like to begin with
a thank
you to
The Morrell
Family for
its generous gift
to the
Town of
Bartlett this
year.
If
you
haven't heard,
the
Town of
Bartlett has
been
given
22
acres
of
land
along
Route
302.
With
this
gift,
Bartlett Recreation
has
begun its
fundraising
efforts, to one
day put
in some
new
fields.
A
hope
of mine
for some
time has
been to
have all
recreational
sports
right
after school
and
not
have the
children
and
parents
have to return
in
the
evening. Our dream
may
come true.
Thank you
so very
much!
Thank
you
also
to
all who
contributed
to
another very successful
year
for Bartlett
Recreation. With the
support
of the
community, many
area
businesses, and a strong
volunteer base
we
accomplished
a great
deal. Our
recreation
com mittee
members
are
all
community
members
who
volunteer
a great
deal of
time to
aid the
recreation
department in events
and
programs
as
well as
offering guidance.
They
are a
great group
of hard
working and
dedicated
individuals.
We have
a good
volunteer
base
that aid
us with
our largest
fund raiser
of
the year,
our
annual golf
tournament.
Monies
raised
aid us in
providing
scholar ships
to
all
children
of Bartlett
and
Jackson,
who
may
need
assistance
to
attend
our
six week
summer
program,
afterschool
program and other areas
of assistance.
We
continue
to gather
gently
used
equipment
and recycle
it to
those
who
may need
a
glove,
cleats,
shin
guards
or other
equipment.
Sometimes these
items will
hold back
a child
from
participating;
we want
to assure
that
all
can
participate
in
whatever
they
want
to.
Our
department
hired
Steven
Iannuzzi
as
Assistant
Director
in
August.
Steven has
proven
to
be a
valuable
asset
to
our
department
in all
areas;
he
is
coaching
the girls
4, 5, 6 basketball
team
this season,
as
well as
handling
some of the day
to day
responsibilities
of the
office, as well
as looking
forward
to
working with
the
summer program
this
year. With
Steven's
enthusiasm and dedication
to our
community,
be sure
to look
for Bartlett
Recreation to
devel op
some great
new
programs
and
events.
As we
move into
2012,
we
continue
to hold
true to
our mission
statement of providing
a
variety
of
quality
recreation
and
leisure
programs
for
all
age groups
within
the towns
of
Bartlett,
Jackson
and Hart's
Location.
We will
continue
to
bring activities,
events
and
sports
that
will
bring families,
as
well
as
community
members together.
